What We Need From You (and When)
A build is a two-way effort. Here's your side of it, laid out plainly.
The best builds are partnerships. We bring the method, the hands, and the experience; you bring the knowledge of your business and the ability to make decisions about it. This article lays out exactly what we'll need from you, and roughly when, so nothing catches you off guard and nothing stalls the work.
At kickoff: direction and people
- A decision-maker. One person on your side who can set direction and make calls when we reach a fork. Builds stall fastest when no one can decide.
- Access to the doers. The people who actually run the processes we're touching. Their input is where the real requirements come from.
- Goals. A clear enough picture of what success looks like that we can aim the work at it.
Early on: access and data
- HubSpot access at the right permission level (there's a dedicated guide for this).
- Connected email, domains, and calendar so the system can actually send, track, and schedule (also a dedicated guide).
- Your data, or access to it, so we can see what shape it's in. The Data Readiness Checklist walks you through getting it ready.
Throughout: answers and decisions
During the build, our biggest ask is timely responses. We'll hit questions only you can answer, "should this route to sales or service?", "who owns this stage?", and the speed of the build tracks the speed of those answers. We keep our questions batched and specific so they're easy to turn around.
Why timing matters
Almost everything we do depends on something from your side being in place, access before we can build, answers before we can decide, decisions before we can move. When those come promptly, the project keeps its momentum. When they lag, the work waits, and waiting is the most expensive thing in any engagement. None of this is heavy, it's mostly quick answers and a few permissions, but doing your part promptly is the single biggest thing you can do to make the build fast and good.
