Before your system can do much of anything useful, sending emails, tracking replies, booking meetings, it needs to be connected to the accounts that make those things happen: your email, your domains, and your calendar. This article explains what each connection does and why it matters, so the setup makes sense rather than feeling like a box to check.
Connecting your email lets the system send on your behalf and track what happens next, opens, replies, and engagement, without you copying and pasting between tools. It also means the conversations your team is already having get logged automatically against the right contacts, so your CRM reflects reality instead of depending on someone remembering to update it. Each user typically connects their own email so the system acts as them, not as a generic robot.
Domains
Connecting your domains is what lets you send email that actually lands, and host pages, forms, or a knowledge base on your own web address. The important part here is email authentication. Properly configured domain records tell the world's inboxes that mail from your domain is legitimately yours, which protects your deliverability and your sender reputation. This is a technical step involving DNS records, and it's one we'll walk through with whoever manages your domain, you don't need to be a DNS expert.
Calendar
Connecting your calendar enables scheduling, letting prospects and customers book time with your team without the back-and-forth, and keeps meeting activity flowing into the system automatically. It's a small connection that removes a surprising amount of friction.
What we'll need from you
For email and calendar, each user connects their own accounts, quick, and self-service. For domains, we'll need to coordinate with whoever controls your DNS, since that's where the authentication records live. Point us to the right person early, DNS changes can take a little time to propagate, so starting this sooner rather than later keeps it off the critical path.
A note on security
Connecting these accounts is standard and safe, it uses secure, revocable authorization, not shared passwords. You stay in control and can disconnect any account at any time.
